Hi,
UPS systems typically have only one USB port which they use to signal a power outage.
Is it possible that one QNAP signals the other that there is a power outage if I connect two QNAPs (ie 451D2 and 453E) to the same UPS have the 451D2 connected via USB to the UPS?

Master/Slave UPS setings are build right into the GUI, just try it out.
Assuming of course that your (unmentioned brand and model) UPS is supported, as @dolbyman says, it’s built into the GUI to setup a master slave relationship. I’ve been using it for many years and with the units i have, it works as described.
