Well, even my TS-451 which has a SO-DIMM but is limited to 8 GB still have 23 GB of swap!
For max performance, swap shall be on a plain partition and not inside LVM, so partition resizing wonât be easy. Considering drives could be moved between units (you could move all your drives to another NAS without breaking the storage pools), the sizing is somehow permanent when it was created.
If you need to set a universal default value, 30GiB isnât that bad, if someone else may be using 64GiB memory.
Anyway having configs (at least possible at initial setup) could make it better. QNAP just doesnât think itâs necessary.
