After resetting to factory defaults I cannot login with useris admin and password of admin.

I have the TS-433. Firmware version 5.1.9.2954. I was trying to join my Windows 2022 servers’ Active Directory with no luck. I tried multiple times and methods but was unsuccessful.

I decided to set it back to the original defaults by sticking a pin in the reset hole for 10 seconds. I’ve tried it with and without the drives installed. It does all the expected “Beeps”.

After it restarts, I load the web interface and enter the username of “admin” and password of “admin”.

I get a message saying, “The credentials are incorrect, or your account is no longer valid”.

I can’t login via the qfinder either.

When attempting to join Active Directory, I gave it a static IP v4 address and set the DNS to that of the server. Prior to that, when restarting the unit I got different addresses. Now I’m getting the same address which makes me think the reset may not have been entirely complete.

Of course it’s very possible it got the same address, but I need to look at every possibility.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

The default password depends on your firmware version.

I suppose that’s in the manual somewhere, but after living 82 years, I need a pair of surgical magnifying glasses to read that stuff!

But thanks! It’s the MAC address. The link says the address is on the back of the unit, but it seems the TS-433 is missing that. The Qfinder, however, does show that.

Now if I can just join it to my Active Directory domain!

It’s not always on the rear. It’s never on the front. That leaves 4 other sides for QNAP to place a sticker.

Please create a new topic for that. I can’t assist, but maybe someone else can. :+1:
