App store failing to open and stuck app install

NAS Model: TS-431XeU

OS Ver: QTS 5.2.7.3297

I have some Apps on my NAS which need updating but there is an existing install which has been stuck for the last 2 days. It appears in the “Background Tasks as 100% complete - Qulog Center Downloading”. In addition to this when I try and open the App Center it stops at “Loading data - please wait” for many minutes before finally opening. Is there a way to ‘kill’ the existing download and retry? Ideally without rebooting.

Many thanks

You could probably SSH into the NAS and kill the appropriate processes. But it may just be easier to reboot. That’s why I would do.

The old “Have you tried turning it off and on again” trick!

Sometimes, if a process is stuck, the shutdown doesn’t work. In those cases, I find running kill -9 -1 from SSH gets it going.

Thanks for the comments - I expect I’ll reboot at a convenient time as suggested. It is a ‘production’ NAS, and I have quite a few users, so I have to schedule down time with the organisation.

Thanks

We recommend you find some time to restart the device first to rule out any other potential issues.

If restarting does not resolve the problem, please feel free to contact us anytime—we would be happy to provide further assistance! Thanks!
