If anyone else is running into this issue, you can refer to this FAQ article:
Steve, since it’s possible for (almost) anyone with a QNAP NAS to generate the Cloud Key from the MAC1 of another NAS, maybe QNAP could add a feature to perform the translation on their website? Customer inputs their MAC1, website shows them their Cloud Key.
Might save your customer service staff some time and effort by getting the customer to find their own Cloud Key?
In fact, since it’s ONLY based on the MAC1, why have a cloud key at all? QTS should probably just skip the translation and accept the MAC1 as the key.
