Data loss in one shared drive after firmware update

  1. Always have data backups
  2. Switch any auto firmware updates off. (notification about updates is fine)
  3. Make sure the NAS is switched off, any usage (in particular write access) can make recovery more difficult or impossible.
  4. Open a ticket with QNAP support (maybe there is an easy way to recover it) or contact a data recovery center. (that will be expensive)
