Hi there I have an OLD TS219P+ with 4.3.3.2784 it works well and has been reliable but been offline for a couple years. I replaced it with a TS464 which is great.
I now want to use the 219P+ as a drive to record CCTV from Aquara Cameras direct to NAS and any non essential files, but whilst I believe the compatibility list says 10TB is maximum wanted to know if anyone has successfully used larger drives and if so how much and which ones please?
Also I am looking for the best value but reliable drives to replace my 14TB ironwood Pro drives in the TS464 which are actually quite noisy and would be interested in who also has a TS464 and happy with tend rive noise. I’mm thinking of changing them to 16TB drives, but holding off on getting the Ironwolf Pro versions until got some feedback on what has been a quiet set up for others. Thanks
These 16+ year old units have a volume limit of 16TB and it’s a hard limit, you will not be able to create volumes on drives 16TB or larger or arrays 16TB or larger.
So you will be fine with a 10,12,14TB drive (even in RAID1, but do not spann a JBOD on the drives or a RAID0)
Thank you very much for sharing your valuable experience and detailed feedback with us!
