LetsEncrypt Certificate Renew/Replace no longer works.

Maybe we should all submit more support tickets.
My ticket has already been closed twice as resolved. QNAP replaced my *.dyndns.org domain with a *.qnapcloud.com domain via remote maintenance—and now claims that the certificate is correctly installed and valid.
This has been going on for weeks!

My ticket was also closed once by QNAP’s “autoclose”, but is now up to date again. QNAP asks for patience until 2.2.63 is released.

Yes, they tried to close my support ticket as well. Have to keep updating it myself to say the issue has not been resolved.

10 Days ago Andy2 QNAP Staff said " The good news is that SSL Certificate version 2.2.63, which is scheduled for release this week, will include a fix that resolves the issue with importing and renewing Let’s Encrypt certificates for custom domains."

Qnap weeks are very long!

My ticket has been with QNAP since June 13, 2025. I haven’t had my certificate for more than four weeks.

Looks like 2.2.63 was just released for QTS in the last hour or so. Haven’t had a chance to test because I don’t leverage Let’s Encrypt on that NAS. Still waiting on the QuTS hero release to test.

It’s working again! I was able to reapply for my Lets Encrypt certificate. Everything works to my satisfaction.

@Andy2

Any word on 2.2.63 for QuTS hero?

Mine is working again, too. After I released the wrong *.myqnapcloud.com-certificate I wanted to create my new dyndns.org-certificate I got again an error.
It turned out after I released the wrong certificate my https-port in webserver was replaced by another port. After setting it back to 44 i was able to create my wanted certificate.
Finally I am back online again.

To anyone that is dealing with this running QuTS hero, I had to go pull the 2.2.63 .qpkg from the app center on the web, but all is working again after manual install.

TS-228A works with 2.2.63 :+1:

the update did the trick.
It is working again.

since this morning it’s working again . don’t try the renewal you must recreate your SSL certificat . We will see the next renewall if it’s automatic

Not works for me. I’ve deleted lets encrypt certificate. Rebooted NAS. And try to create new Let’s Encrypt certificate. I’ve got the same error, that couldn’t extract certificate.

TS-420U won’t receive the update? The most up-to-date system available is 4.3.3.2784 Build 20240619 and QTS SSL Certificate V2.2.18. I tried to download the new version from my other TS-983XU model that received the update, but it is not possible to install it on the old one.

That NAS is more than 15 years old (long EOL and no updates) be sure to never ever ever expose this (or other) QNAP NAS to WAN.

SSL encryption does nothing to protect your NAS.

I have ts-419P. Is it not supporting too?

The 419p+ is even older (Updates were supported till December 2017)

I hope QNAP can release a firmware update or QTS SSL Certificate V2.2.63+ for QTS 4.3.3.2784 Build 20240619 users. I have around twenty QNAP TS-212P devices around the world. Updating all of them will cost a lot of time and budget. Thanks!

They should work just fine without a cert…why would they need one ?

All web content deserves a cert standing at the modern viewpoint of today. Updating such an embedded application to enable all the QNAP users to enjoy a decent web experience does not cost a lot, yet QNAP’s brand can outstand its competitors by doing so.
