I had a power outage yesterday. When the power was restored
My TS-453A came back up perfectly, visible and accessible via Qfinder Pro and laptop on home network
My TS-463U-RP appeared to come back up ok - 4 green status lights for hard drives and flashing orange light for network.
However, NAS not visible on Qfinder and not visible / accessible on home network via laptop
I tried to power off and power on several times but same results. (I didn’t notice a beep after power on ??)
I also tried the paper clip reset option but nothing happened - maybe I’m not doing it properly …
Does that NAS start with all disks ejected (only eject them a few inches, so they do not make contact)
If not, the power outtage (spike/brownout) could have killed your bootstrapper DOM/flash…and I seem to remember there is no way to consumer reflash it. (always run your NAS on a UPS!)
I tried power on with the disks pulled out a couple of inches - power up was successful, I got the beep, Qfinder Pro see the NAS (but without my NAS name).
I get a dialog box : “Server not initialised yet do I want to use the Smart Installation Guide …”
??
4 x 2TB drives in RAID 10 configuration.
I tried with drives 1, 2 & 3 in and 4 out - perfect power up, NAS (with correct name) visible in Qfinder and visible to laptop File Explorer.
All folders and files intact.
I had good data back-up.
Drive 4 has had a couple of Read/Write errors recently and I had bought a spare drive to change over at this month-end off-site back up process.
All good (the power outage must have finished drive 4 for good !!)
