Is there a way or setting to disable versioning in netback PC agent and force full backups. I would want to only have 4 full backups without other types of versioning. Thanks in advance.
It only does a complete backup once to save space and make backups faster. It uses dedupe to only have to store one copy of each file. That is why backing up my Win10 pc with 128gb of data only takes 4 minutes and 12gb transferred. (10g network). Why would you want to waste all that space and time?
It is not about wasting space. I want to maintain full backups because at restoration time I want only one copy to be used. Second I do not have to search across all the versions / copies of the backup to find a particular file.
The files being backed up are small in size and large in numbers. also the content is interlinked. So having full backup without de-duplication saves a lot of time and confusion during restoration. Hope I am clear with my explanation.
You are clear but your needs require a different basic design of the app. 99% of users want the more efficient way. You can do what you want with Macrium Backup. It is really good and flexible, but you have to pay for it.
Currently, Netbak PC agent can not disable versioning.
