Welp, I’m experiencing the following error message in two one-way sync jobs that go to myQNAPcloud Storage space.
Error 2026-08-17 21:07:09 System 127.0.0.1 --- --- Hybrid Backup Sync Job Status [Hybrid Backup Sync] Failed to complete Sync job: "Container Station (cloud)". Invalid SSL certificate. Disable SSL certificate validation in account settings of storage space profile, or contact your cloud storage provider.
I have changed no settings in HBS3. Just updated f/w to QTS 5.2.10.3577 in the hope it might fix the issue but the error message persists. Prior to this fw, I was running the previous latest fw,
I have no SSL certificate installed.
I have also had a poke around the settings of myQNAPcloud Storage and nothing points to any SSL cert config options.
I run these jobs on a weekly schedule and the last successful run was 10th August
Would appreciate any suggestions for further troubleshooting/fixes.
So what is the target of "Container Station (cloud)"? Is it a cloud target where the data is written to ?
It’s a paired folder on QNAP’s enterprise cloud storage myQNAPcloud Storage | QNAP
Maybe contact QNAP, one of their rented storage spaces could have a SSL cert issue
A rough guess:
Check your system time is sync with NTP server (time difference sometimes make certification identification error)
Or just open a ticket to QNAP support via helpdesk and it should collect logs automatically.
NTP is synced. I’ll open a support ticket if there are no further suggestions.
Providing the solution here for anyone struggling with the same in future:
QNAP support identified that the wasabisys.com domain which is used by myQNAPcloud Storage was being blocked by my NextDNS firewall rules. After adding the domain to my whitelist, syncs are proceeding normally.
It seems NextDNS have added it to their core blocklist this month
