I’m seeking assistance with an ongoing issue regarding Active Directory integration with QVR Center. While basic AD connectivity seems present, specific domain users cannot log in, and I’m facing a frustrating problem with log updates.
My Setup:
- QNAP NAS Model: TS-h3087XU-RP
- QNAP Firmware Version: QuTS hero h5.2.5.3138 (2025/05/19)
- QVR Center Version: 2.2.1.1197 (2025/04/11)
- Active Directory Environment: Windows Server [e.g., 2019, 2022], single domain: yourcompany.local (or example.com)
Problem Description: After successfully integrating Active Directory with QVR Center, I’ve configured groups for user access.
- Crucial AD Behavior: QVR Center’s AD integration appears to only query and display groups/users that are directly within the default CN=Users container of the domain (yourcompany.local/Users). Groups residing in other Organizational Units (OUs) are not visible for selection in QVR Center.
- I created a Global Security Group in AD: yourcompany.local/Users/QVR_Viewers (directly under the Users container).
- I added specific domain users (e.g., testuser1, who resides in a different OU like yourcompany.local/OU=Staff) as members of this QVR_Viewers group in AD.
- I then successfully imported the QVR_Viewers group into QVR Center (under Privilege > Users > Domain Users) and assigned it the “viewer” privilege.
The issue is that users like testuser1 (a member of QVR_Viewers) cannot log in to QVR Center, while another test user (testuser2, who is directly in the Users OU) can successfully log in. This indicates the core AD integration works for some users/groups.
The user who is drietcly in the Users OU is listed under domain users, but anything else “any group under the OU Users is listed but none of its members are shown, Nore they can login”.
