I don’t understand what you ask for.
So your users deleted files off the NAS and now…what?
And unless they requested permanent deletion, these files are all in the recycle bin which means you can recover them.
If you don’t want users deleting files, I would suggest changing the access rights…
If the system does what you want it to, and you only need to increase the storage capacity, it may be possible to simply replace the current drives with larger ones (following a specific process) and increase the overall storage. But, more information on your current setup would be required to confirm.
If you plan on regularly keeping deleted files as a backup, you should really look at a proper backup strategy instead. You should also look into versioning, active sync backups, recycle bins and other options to mitigate data loss.
If you don’t want users to delete files, you can look at giving users read-only access.
Also, I can’t find a QNAP model number of TS-875A. Are you talking about the TS-873A?
That model has a Ryzen Embedded V1500B processor. It is the model I have. While there are more powerful NAS units, this one is still decent and depending on what you are doing on the NAS, it may be more than sufficient. Plus with 8 drive bays, you have room for a lot of storage.
May we ask if you are using QTS or QuTS hero? Also, if the files are still in the Recycle Bin, you should be able to recover them without any issues. If you have purchased a new NAS and run into any backup issues down the line, feel free to open a support ticket and we’ll be happy to help!
