QuMagie Android crashes when running "Free up space" on Samsung Galaxy

App version: QuMagie Android

Device: Samsung Galaxy S24

NAS Model & QTS / QuMagie version : TS-464 & QTS 5.2.10.3577 / 2.10.1.0826

**Description of the issue:**

When attempting to run the built-in “Free up space” feature on my Samsung Galaxy S24, the app indicates that the content is large and needs to be processed in batches (14276 files for 43,89Gb). As soon as I confirm and start the process, the QuMagie app crashes immediately to the phone home screen.

**Steps to reproduce:**

1. Open QuMagie on Samsung Galaxy S24 or similare.

2. Select **Free up space**.

3. Accept the prompt stating that items are large and will be split into batches.

4. The app closes immediately.

**Troubleshooting already performed:**

* Cleared app cache.

* Set battery usage to “Unrestricted” in Samsung Android settings.

* Granted full storage permissions (“Photos and videos” / “All files”).

* Verified that backup/sync to the NAS is completed.

Is there a known limit on the number of files the indexer can process during cleanup, or a fix/workaround for this crash ?

Thanks for the report! We’ve confirmed that there is indeed an issue with this feature, and it will be fixed in the next release, version 2.10.2!

We’ve resolved this issue and released a new version. Please update to version 2.10.2 or later. Thanks!

Thank you,

I updated the application. It no longer crashes, but the feature still does not work as expected.

Out of the 43.89 GB, only part of the data could be moved to the trash, and there are still around 20 GB left to free up. When I try again, I get the following message: “Certaines photos/vidéos n’ont pas pu étre supprimées lors de la libération de I’espace.” (“Some photos/videos could not be deleted while freeing up space,”) with no further information about the cause.

Then, from the trash, I tried the reverse operation and attempted to restore the data. I received an error: “Timeout expired.”

Hello @SteveKo , any news about my last comment ?
