QVR Client Web Beta 3 Update

Thank you for your feedback on Beta 2. We’ve added major new features and important fixes in Beta 3. Please review the information below before you start testing.

New Features and Improvements

  • Face Search: You can search for recorded faces or browse registered personal profiles. Operate directly from the web client, now supported for both QVR Center and single-server setups.

  • Event Search: Play back event footage right where you find it. Tap a snapshot to play it immediately, or use the floating mini player. We’ve also added a timeline view that makes it easier to handle large numbers of search results.

  • Smart Search: Search progress is shown in real time on task cards, with notifications sent upon completion and direct links to results. Matching results are marked on the timeline and video.

  • AV1 & Fisheye Correction Support: Now supports AV1 camera streams. Fisheye correction is unified with the desktop version, supporting dual panorama mode and ROI (region of interest) overlay.

  • Playback Controls: Playback controls have been revamped so speed switching is now smoother. Reverse playback is newly supported, and streaming is now stable even at non-standard playback speeds.

  • Audio Per Camera: Each camera tile now has its own listen button. You can set whether audio plays automatically when you open a camera.

  • View Folders and E-Map Pinning: Organize views with folders, including renaming and deleting. E-Map preview now pins cameras by clicking the camera icon, and supports drag to move, resize, and maintains locations.

  • QVR Center Consistency: Server lists, camera controls, event snapshots, and real-time notifications now work consistently across all servers within the Center setup (previously only the first server was supported).

  • Object Change Detection: Instead of selecting from automatically detected areas, you can freely draw attention areas. Based on available recorded data, the system suggests start and end times.

Fixes

  • Safari Stability: Fixed crashes and freezes during live view and playback in Safari—including freezes after long periods of hardware decoding.

  • Camera Decode: Fixed decode failures caused by non-standard H.265 stream information, as well as issues where AV1 streams failed at the first frame.

  • Camera Status Accuracy: Cameras that fail to stream are no longer incorrectly displayed as “Camera offline”. MxPEG+ cameras now show a clear message suggesting use of the desktop version instead of a black screen.

  • Playback Reliability: Fixed issues where changes to image quality and playback speed were not reflected.

  • Face Search Filtering: Fixed issues where profile filtering by names containing Chinese, Japanese, or Korean characters produced empty results.

  • Multilingual Display: Fixed untranslated text in several places. Event Search, Face Search, Smart Search, Export, and Object Change Detection now instantly follow the app’s language setting change.

  • Sync After Reconnections: Fixed issues where view and E-Map changes made elsewhere weren’t reflected after reconnection.

Important Notes and Limitations

  • H.265 Limitation in Firefox: The Firefox WebCodecs API currently does not support decoding H.265 (HEVC). If your camera stream uses H.265, please use Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge.

  • HTTPS Required: Per W3C specifications, the WebCodecs API, which enables hardware-accelerated decoding, requires operation in a secure context (HTTPS). Even on a local network, the client must access via HTTPS, using the NAS’s HTTPS port.

  • Installation Method: Install the client from QTS App Center. Direct integration with the QVR Surveillance app is planned for a future release.
