QVR Pro not capturing motion

@NA9D umm…I will let the team know this, could I ask the support staff to schedule another time with you to confirm this remotely?

Yep. They did nothing to fix my problem. Instead they just avoided fixing the problem by changing motion detection to camera.

I am beginning to think this is an issue with the latest version of QVRPro. I would like to revert to the previous version. Where can I find the download link for older versions of software?

Hope the solution that worked for me helps anyone else with this same problem. I had moved house and not had time to install my camera for many months, but I had been installing updates for the QNAP apps as and when required. Yesterday I finally plugged my camera back in, on which the on-camera motion detection was working perfectly previously, to find that it was no longer recording. I verified the motion detection was working via the camera’s logs. Within the motion detection setting on QVR I tried setting the method to QVR but it told me that I needed to install CAYIN media viewer for this to work. I therefore did as instructed and the motion detection recording then worked correctly. However I didn’t really want to use the QVR motion detection as it resource-heavy, so I changed it back to Camera, and motion recording continued to work as previously. Therefore, regardless of the motion detection method you want to use, it seems you need CAYIN media viewer to be installed.

Yes, a couple updates ago, QNAP switched some things around in their software and now they require CAYIN media viewer to be installed when using QVR Pro and now QVR Surveillance. I think the reason is likely smaller code base needed in the QVR app and CAYIN needs to be installed for other media purposes so why duplicate code.
