You have both File Station 5 & 6 installed. Maybe try uninstalling the one you don’t use?
Hi Simon,
Using HTTP, not sure what you mean by setting for sys admin. Only usings tabs in the control panel.
Looking at using the M2 drives can these be used for OS for apps ?
Thanks Steve, I have now raised a ticket.
The only apps are Qmail , Plex & File Station 6
The QMAIL Agent is using 29.7%—that’s a lot!
I would stop your Qmail Agent. I have seen Qmail use a LOT of resources when running and synchronizing mail. Once Qmail has synchronized your mailboxes, then things will calm down.
Your CPU loading is showing over 5 which means your NAS has more tasks to do than the processor can easily handle. This is causing the backlog. Nothing is harmed, it will just be slow.
Try stopping Qmail agent and let us know what you get.
While both are installed, if you look, only version 6 is running. Version 5 is stopped.
The screenshot shows both QPKGs are started. That’s why both have the ‘Open’ action available. A QPKG that is stopped can’t be opened. ![]()
I suggested removing one in-case there were some unwanted interactions occurring between the packages.
Edit: admittedly, the colouring of the File Station 5 package icon is subdued, which is typically representative of a stopped QPKG. But the package menu action says ‘Open’. Weird.
When both versions of FS are installed it looks like that. Opening one, stops the other. It’s kinda funky…
Looks like a bug then. ![]()

Dear Customer,
We have detected that the external USB drive (USB SanDisk 3.2Gen1, label: NFS-BU-1) is experiencing multiple read errors and appears to be failing.
The system logs indicate repeated medium/read errors on the device, including “Unrecovered read error” and critical medium errors, which typically suggest hardware/media failure on the external drive.
To prevent further system warnings or potential impact, please safely unplug/disconnect the external drive from the NAS. Once the failed external drive is disconnected, the NAS system should return to normal operation.
Thanks again for everyone’s input and assistance
NFS
QNAP and external drives don’t always work well together. I’ve since replaced all my external drives with simple NAS devices.
