TS-253D volumes won’t auto-mount on macOS 26.2

Hi everyone, I’ve got a TS-253D (firmware version: 5.2.8.3350) and I’m having issues with volumes mounting automatically at startup on macOS 26.2. I’m using Qfinder and it gives an error message saying:

“If Qfinder Pro is unable to locate your QNAP device, ensure that all conditions below have been met, and then click the ‘Refresh’ button located at the top right corner of the Qfinder Pro window.

  1. The device has finished booting up. The device should emit a long audio beep after the boot-up process is finished.
  2. Your computer and device are on the same subnet.
  3. Qfinder Pro is not being blocked by your firewall or anti-virus.”

If I wait a few seconds and hit Refresh in Qfinder, the NAS shows up and I can mount all the volumes without any issues, but it doesn’t do this automatically.

I have another Mac running macOS 15.6 and it works without any issues. On startup, Qfinder launches and mounts the volumes automatically with no error message and no need to refresh the NAS list in Qfinder.

Both Macs are running Qfinder Pro version 7.13.1 and are connected to the exact same WiFi network.

Has anyone else come across this issue and found a solution?

I reckon it’s merely a timing issue, where Qfinder tries searching for the NAS before the network card etc has stabilised. I’ve had this in Linux Mint, which fortunately uses an app that allows for the delaying of loading selected programs at boot. Once Qfinder was set for a 20 second delay everything was fine. Note: I’ve not played around with the timing, so for all I know 5 seconds could be enough for that laptop.

You shouldn’t need to use Qfinder and you shouldn’t need to have the NAS drives mount.

The NAS will show up automatically in the Finder under locations. Just click on the NAS and if you have your credentials saved in KeyChain, the volumes will show up automatically.
