TS-i410X-8G Qnap DOM System do not boot after a power failure

TS-i410X-8G

Qnap DOM System do not boot after power failure. No GRUB display too. No LAN (led off). No POST beep at startup and two LEDs n°2 and n°4 are always green.

In my configuration, I have applied an Autoboot when power is turned on.

The only solution is to turn off and turn on again. But sometimes, NAS do not restart after consecutive power on.
Rate 2/3 times system do not start.

If power button is used, there is no problem. I believe that autoboot and power failure are not well supported by firmware.

I modified GRUB splash config to HDMI display boot selection with a non nul timeout of 10s, and I noticed an auto switch to DOM Qnap backup, instead of nominal DOM Qnap.

I have checked kernel log history but nothing anormal because there is no kernel boot in fault (nothing too in pstore EFI mcelog reports). I only noticed a compiled kernel in debug mode.

It seems to be a BIOS degraded behaviour. Micro power failure robustness… No way to investigate more except by device opening.

A last point, I noticed if four disks are not present, Qnap system autoboots correctly after multiple power failures.

Do you know this issue? Seen on several systems tsi410, with or without the provided power supply adapter.
Is there an alternative to make work autoboot in all case? Wake on Lan after power ON?
Is there a way to clean shutdown remotely Qnap too ? By using simulated snmp ups message or ssh /etc/init.d/poweroff binary ?

suggestion
request your ssd manufacture about fw update for ssd model you use with qnap

Please check forum too

BIOS do not boot too.

I don’t think SSD Fw is implied except that without SSD, system restarts correctly after power failures. I have to collect boot failure statistics…

Perhaps a thermal issue with PSU. I have to check.
