USB Quick Access not working

I have a TS-451+ and the USB isn’t working when I connect my Macbook pro through Qfinder Pro. It works through the wifi but not the USB and I want to download large amounts of data from the mac to the NAS. It is a new install. The USB isn’t coming up in the interfaces in the control panel and when I look at the option for usb quick access in the qfinder pro it is greyed out.

Im using the latest operating system

When I plug my Iphone in it starts charging so the USB socket on the front is definitely active.

Does anyone have any idea what this can be?

This NAS has no USB quick access, all USB ports are host ports (to connect devices TO the NAS)

USB Quick access was a short lived virtual network card that would install on your local PC in conjunction with a special port on a few NAS, a NAS is never a DAS and cannot be used that way.

thanks mate Whats the best way to I transfer data at higher speed than wifi? I have no ethernet port on my macbook pro do I get a usb network card. Will it be that much quicker through a cable too?

Yes a USB network card/dongle would be a lot faster than Wifi (as Wifi never tends to reach the advertised speeds and is a non exclusive medium [air])

In general, Wifi and NAS don’t really mix well.

brilliant will do that then. Many thanks
