I was sending event notifications via SMTP email from Notification Center in “QuTS hero h5.2.8.3359,” but since updating the version from “1.9.2.3163” to “1.10.0.3291,” I have been unable to send them.
Is this a bug on the Notification Center side?
For the time being, I have checked for other possible causes within the scope I could confirm, but I couldn’t find anything in particular that might be the cause.
Therefore, it seems most likely that the “Notification Center update” is the main factor.
I think there is a bug in that version. After the same update as you, my NAS is still sending its email notifications but the title of the messages has been changed from “Message from NAS” (as I set in the Notification Centre) to “Message from NAS???….???”. It’s been padded out to 512 bytes with ‘?’ characters.

Sorry to trouble you, but could you please verify the following conditions?
Set up a custom SMTP server (port 25) with version “1.9.2.3163” or earlier.
Then, update the version to “1.10.0.3291” while keeping that configuration.
Since a message such as “SMTP service account: anonymous@example.com already exists.” appears, I am unable to add or modify the SMTP server.
Additionally, when I tried deleting the SMTP server settings and reconfiguring them as a test, the same message appeared, so I am now unable to restore the settings.
I suspect that if the update is performed while incompatible fields are still present, editing may become locked.
I opened a ticket yesterday and they replied by asking for remote access. That has been set up and I think they accessed my NAS but I’m not sure. Hopefully they will find something.
I’m not alone, though. There are some comments in Reddit with the same issue.
