25G SFP28 issues - here we go again !

Hi - building a new TS-h3087XU-RP with the QNAP 25G card. Latest QuTS 5.2.5 firmware with corresponding Advanced Network Driver. I have been doing this since QNAP started with 25G, and I am the person that made QNAP write the new v1.4.2 firmware for the QSW-M5216-1T 25G switch, so you could enable and disable FEC, and change it from Auto, to Base-R to RS-FEC.

Well - I am installing a new QNAP today with the QNAP 25G card, with the latest firmware, and to my shock, there are no longer any FEC settings in the Network Control Panel. Maybe I am blind - maybe they moved something that I cannot find. But there is no way to change the FEC settings on a QNAP SFP28 card in a QNAP NAS now. I am hoping that someone says “it’s over here, stupid - you just didn’t see it”.

Hey Bob,

just to make sure, did you download 5.2.5 or 5.3.0 RC? (5.3.0 is missing quite a few of features according to the release notes)

I have seen quite a few people that accidentally grabbed the RC from that list, just because it showed up on top.

Hi - I am going to have to contact QNAP in Taiwan directly. This customer has multiple large QNAP systems - all with 25G SFP28 cards. There is no issue with QuTS h5.2.4 - the FEC settings are all there. But in QuTS h5.2.5 - nope - it’s gone. I guess SFP28 is such a small user group, and there are so many things to test for - that they did not bother to check this.
