AMIZ Cloud Backup Error

I’m trying to use the System backup feature in AMIZ Cloud but it is not successful on any of my NAS units. I get the following error:

Failed: getBackupInfo error: response status not 200, status: 500

What needs to be fixed? Everything else in AMIZ Cloud seems to work fine…

Hello NA9D,

you’ve got this error when trying to run manually the backup with Amiz Cloud interface or only on time schedule ?

regarding the information you give, it’s like that Amiz Cloud is not able to join your NAS for Backup. If my understanding is well, when you make a system backup of your NAS from Amiz Cloud, Amiz Cloud is the initiator so he need an network access to the NAS. the first response for me is OK Http / https 200 that’s mean that the communication is establish between Amiz Cloud and your NAS but the Status 500 indicate an internal server error (i suppose from your NAS but not sure)

Excuse me my network knowledge is very old but try to help. on my side with QTS not QTS hero no issue with this backup. A firmware issue in QuTS ?

I will realy appreciate if you can give the solution when you find it and sorry for my pour english.

Ps : regarding a lot of your post on this forum you are a master on QNAP device so, just a quick question. Did you try to track all the exchanges between Amiz Cloud and your NAS with for exemple a Kali Linux VM with an intercept proxy and other tools to analyze all the traffic ?

I have not tracked any exchanges between my device and AMIZ Cloud. Everything else with it works fine. Backup just does not work. Not a huge deal but just wondering if others have seen this.

We apologize for the inconvenience! We have successfully reproduced this issue internally. The problem occurs when the timezone name contains an “&” symbol, such as “US & Canada.”

As a workaround, please change your NAS timezone to one that does not contain “&” and the feature should work normally.

We will have this fixed in the next release. Thanks for your patience!

That was it! I changed my time zone to Saskatechwan and it worked!
