Hi, I’d like to ask if anyone else feels that the App Center menu categories are a bit confusing?
When I use it myself, aside from “QNAP Store,” which is pretty intuitive, other categories like “HybridDesk Station” or “Multimedia Add-ons” are hard to understand what they actually mean. It feels a bit mixed between Chinese and English, and the explanations aren’t clear enough.
After clicking into each category, you often see packages like “QTS Essentials,” which seem to appear frequently. I’m not sure if these are duplicates or different versions for different scenarios. Overall, the categorization logic doesn’t feel clear, and I don’t really know where to find the apps I need.
I hope the categories can be made simpler and clearer in the future.
In fact, QNAP Store/HybridDesk Station/Multimedia Add-ons are essentially different categories of apps, equivalent to software for NAS use, software for HDMI external output, and multimedia plugins.
It is actually recommended to keep just the first two main categories: Plugins can be merged into the QNAP Store by adding a new plugin category. Currently, there is only the video station plugin, and it seems that Video Station has basically been abandoned.
The current interface display is indeed not very intuitive, so optimization is recommended.
Additionally, the forum link in the app center still uses the old forum link. I submitted a ticket for feedback more than two months ago, but even after version upgrades, there has been no change. (For example, “Download Station and QGet - QNAP NAS Community Forum)
