Folks,
I wonder if there is any way to back up or replicate Apple iCloud storage to a QNAP device?
Not directly there does not appear a way.
Personally, I have moved away from relying on iCloud storage. It’s one of the reasons why I’ve beefed up my QNAPs. Why did I move away? Well, I still have iCloud storage but not relying on it. I saw too many instances where I would have stuff on my desktop and then it would just disappear. Or iCloud would create multiple copies of folders/files for some reason due to sync issues.
What you could do is use Qsync to sync your iCloud folders to the NAS. I do that with a OneDrive folder I have. That’s really the best way to do it.
@NA9D ,
Yes, I am thinking of stopping my iCloud subscription as they are not a trully backup solution, but rather a replication solution, deleting items accidentally or deliberately on the devices, meaning the items (Photos and Videos) are also deleted in the iCloud.
Thank you for the suggestion. I will give that a try.
Nothing wrong with iCloud storage. But it definitely is not a backup!
