Backup mobile devices to Qnap TS-453

Hello, my goal is to sync all mobile devices in my house. The backup starts whenever a phone is plugged into a charger and connected to Wi-Fi. There are many devices in the house, mainly Samsung and Apple devices, Motorola, and Windows phones.

I’m using File Pro and Qsync Pro 1.4.2.0412.

It works after setup, but after a while it stops, and I have to retrieve the device and restart it, or even reset the connection settings and start over. Has anyone else experienced this or know of any problems with these apps?

Initially, QFile needs to be the active app when doing the first sync (ie: transferring photos for example). After that first sync of the phone to the NAS, everything should sync in the background no problem.

Could you please provide more details regarding this issue?

  1. How frequently does this disconnection occur?

  2. You mentioned that the backup devices need to be reconnected. Which device most frequently requires this reconnection? Is it Samsung, Apple, another type of mobile phone, or do they all lose connection simultaneously every time?

I am trying to narrow down the problem and have noted the settings on several devices. For example, on an iPhone 12, the last successful backup was in June 2025. In the meantime, we have configured a new iPhone 17. They use the same backup settings and folders, and also the same user. After I opened the app and connected it to the charging cable, both devices were synchronized with the folder on the NAS without any issues. The option for the process to run in the background was deactivated. I have now activated both “process should run in the background” and “backup only while charging” and will check the result again.

Lol, I did not know that this thread was in English cause my page including the menu is completely in German. I just realizd that the AI translated even the sidebar….Sorry.

So now I checked with a pretty new Samsung A55 and I saw that the upload got stuck overnight… Reason seems to be that i am walking through different Wifi zones and when the connection is bad the backup is halted. Now I will check the other devices with the new settings. Hope the backup will be truly automated after all.
