Can Ping ; can't log ; can't find NAS with Qfinder

Hi everybody,

1st time poster. I am at a loss.

Operating system : Windows 11
NAS model : TS-253D
Firmware Version/Build numbers : not sure anymore
Network Setup (ie Single Port or Port Trunking) : NSA connected with ethernet on my router ; laptop on Wifi
If Disk related please also specify:
   Drive Configuration: (ie SingleDrive, RAID0, JBOD, RAID1, RAID5, RAID6, RAID10) : can't remember, can't check
   Number of drives : 2 x 4go HDD
For each drive please provide:
   Drive Manufacturer : WD
Drive Model : can check if needed

It started with me not being able access through the WebUI. When inputing the IP address in my browser, the message “could not be found” was return. QFinderPro could not see the NAS. Pinging the NAS, can’t quite remember
Funny things, I could still acccess my data through the network shortcut on my Windows Explorer.

Going in circles to try to understand the issue, I ended up doing a “3s reset”.
I could now access the WebUI login page but could not log with either my credential or the default admin credential (admin + Cloud Key). Still invisible with QFinderPro

I then did a “10s reset” to no avail.

I ended up today by doing a Recovery following this page :

It worked until the step with QFinderPro to update the firmware.

I have now re-install my HDD in the NAS. Started it up.
I can see the NAS connected to my router with the router UI.
I can ping the NAS from my laptop.
I can access the WebUI page.
I still can’t log.
QFinderPro still can’t see it.
SSH can’t connect.
My shared folder shortcut does not work anymore.

In short… I’m stuck.
Not sure the state of my NAS right now.

Any idea to help ?

Thank you  in advance

Can you access the NAS via SSH?

I guess you have solid backus?

Hi

Thanks for your message

Could not connect via SSH before and stilk can’t.

Solid backup : no, did not think of making a copy of my file while I still had access :pensive:

Best to open a ticket with QNAP then

In the future, always have backups of your data

Ok, I will

I’ll come back to post some updates

Based on our past experience, this connection issue could be due to your NAS and PC being on different network segments.

Could you please provide screenshots of your computer’s IP and NAS’s IP? (If you have privacy concerns, feel free to send them to me via private message.)

Also, we suggest you ensure both your devices are on the same network segment. For instance, try connecting both devices directly with an Ethernet cable to the same router, and then use Qfinder to see if that helps.
