Configuraction LDAP on my QNAP TS-464U-RP

Good afternoon everyone,

I am experiencing issues allowing LDAP users to access shared folders via SMB.

I have successfully assigned the necessary permissions, but when trying to access the shared folder through File Explorer using the path \x.x.x.x\Public and entering my credentials, I receive an error stating that the credentials are incorrect.

QNAP System Details:

  • Model: TS-464U-RP
  • Firmware Version: QTS 5.0.3.3006

This issue only occurs on this server, as we can access other servers via LDAP without any problems.

Could you help diagnose and resolve this issue?

Thank you for your attention!

In the advanced SMB options you can set what entry method is used

I set mine to the microsoft default Domain\Username, the default for QNAP is Domain+Username

I configured the system as you suggested; however, I noticed that you have it set up as AD Domain Member, whereas I am using LDAP Domain Authentication. I’m not sure if this makes a difference, but I changed the configuration accordingly, and I am still unable to access the shared folders.

We use LDAP authentication to access our IPBricks servers, which are deployed in each location. Below, I am providing the LDAP settings configured on the QNAP for your review.

Could you help me troubleshoot this issue?

Do LDAP users show up in your user management ?

Yes, I can see the Users and Groups!

I have never uses LDAP, but these advanced options are missing for you ?
