Convoluted alerts process

A bit of feedback for those that support.

I find the whole alert infrastructure very convoluted and inefficient. An example follows:

  • I receive an email alert stating “Detected security risks High risk: 0, medium risk: 1, low risk: 0” but no further info
  • I have to login to the NAS to open Security Centre and then wait 10-15 secs for it to populate the dashboard to find I then have to view a report which tells me an app needs updating
  • I then have to open App Centre to update the app.

My question is why can’t the Security alert tell me what the problem is by sending a summary of what’s in the report or in the above case just say that updated apps are available.

Hi @webby25 ,

Thank you very much for sharing your valuable feedback with us.
We truly appreciate you taking the time to describe your experience with the alert process in detail. Your observation about the multi-step workflow and the delay before identifying the exact issue is very helpful.

We understand that having more detailed information—such as which app needs updating—directly included in the alert email would make the process more efficient. We have already forwarded your suggestion to the relevant team for evaluation. Our goal is to continuously simplify user workflows and improve notification clarity in future updates.

Thank you once again for your constructive input and continued support of QNAP.

Best regards,
QNAP Team
