Creating RAID-1 from TR Unit using 2 Drive only

Using the TR-004 and the Software RAID mode with the QNAP External RAID manager software on Windows.

What are the steps and the procedure to safely create RAID-1 using the Disk #3 and #4 only while retaining the data in the Disk #1 and #2 ?

I think that doesn`t work.

You can’t change the raids.

Ok, so how can I use just the two drives only while leaving the other two as Independent disks ?

I think you must begann new with the TR-004

From user guide “The RAID enclosure does not support capacity expansion or RAID-level migration.”

It’s not possible to have RAID1 on two disks, and the other two disks independent.

Thank you @Becker2020 and @Guillaume for the confirmation.
I was under the impression that was possible as I used to managed TVS-XXX units.

You can have 2 x RAID1 ( Example Disk 1 and 2 = RAID1 n°1 , and disk 3 and 4 = RAID1 n°2 )

But you can’t have disk 1 = single, disk 2 = single and disk 3 and 4 = RAID1.

For this kind of configuration, you need a TL- ( Ex TL-D800C ) connected to a NAS or managed directly by Windows.

In the case of a TL-, the disks are managed by the host and not by the unit.

@Guillaume ,
The TR Unit has the Software mode function dipswitch mode, would that be possible to configure on the Windows 11 OS or it must be a Windows Server?

You can set the TR-004 to “Single” and manage disks via the host
