dns server cannot resolve host error message

I don’t know the dns server and default gateway settings. I am a noob please help.

Where do you see this?
NAS model?
Firmware?

ts-264 model firmware 5.2 I see this error message when I try to connect to download software acupdate apps

Is your NAS setup for DCHP or manual IP? (if manual, did you set a DNS server and Gateway?)

DCHP with auto setup

nas is connected to computer with a ethernet cable

I was able to set it up make a raid 1 array

Then you need to setup a bunch of stuff. “normally” the NAS is connected directly to the router or network switch and it will “find” the internet. If you connect directly to a PC, then you need to setup the PC to support that and assign IP addresses, gaetway etc, and set appropriate firewall rules…

Connect it to your router or network switch instead

yeah unless your PC has a DHCP Server running on it, that will not work

And the NAS will also not have an internet connection.
