So, dumb question… I started a torrent a while back in DS and it’s 40% done, maybe one day it will finish. How can I know what the destination of that torrent will be? If I right-click and select Open containing folder I can see the temporary/working directory, but I don’t remember what I set for the destination. Apart from waiting until it finishes and checking Open containing folder again, is there any way to know?
If you start another torrent the destination folder for the previous file will likely be displayed in the “Create task” dialog.
I’ve started & completed half a dozen torrents since I started the one in question.
So there’s no way to know? Kind of odd.
Hmmm, DS doesn’t display the “final” destination folder after the download starts, but you can see the current location (finished or not) in the column “File location”. If that’s not showing, scroll right and click on “+” to toggle the columns you want.
You can also see various info by toggling the “summary” icon next to the bin.
Looks like you’ll have to wait…
Hi @Wattson ,
Thank you for raising this question.
You may check the current download location of the task in Download Station. For example, this can be viewed through the “File location” column in the task list or by using “Open containing folder” to see where the files are currently stored during the download.
Regarding the final destination folder after the download completes, this is a helpful use case. We will share this feedback with our internal team for reference when evaluating possible future improvements.
For additional reference, you may also check the official Download Station tutorial:
https://www.qnap.com/en/how-to/tutorial/article/how-to-use-download-station
When creating a download task, Download Station allows you to configure both:
-
Temporary file location – where files are stored during download
-
Move completed downloads to – the destination folder after the download completes
More details can be found in the tutorial above.
The download destination is selected when you create the task as well. So you can download to any location you like.
