excited for the new QNAP QSW-M7230 switch

well - it’s about time ! I never understood the QSW-M3224-24T 24 port 10G switch with no 25G uplink ports - especially since all the higher end QNAP’s either have 25G ports, or have the ability to have a 25G card. Well - it’s finally released, and it has the bonus of having the two 100G ports, so I can stack 2 switches together for 48 10G ports, without losing any bandwidth to the 10G clients.

I never used AMIZcloud before, but when I saw this switch supported it - I figured out how to use it for mangement (it was easy !) - and I think that this will be a very successful product for QNAP - even if you don’t use a QNAP NAS system, but have higher end servers.

I also wanted to give you a quick “sneak peek”: we will be adding Stacking support to this model in the near future. We are aiming to release the new firmware by the end of this year or early next year. Please stay tuned!

Hi CY -

I have several of the QSW-M7230 on order. But there is currently NO MANUAL on the QNAP support page for this product. I am sure the basic setup is the same as the other QNAP switches, but for the more advanced items - like PTP, IGMP, etc - it would be nice if there was a manual I could refer to, instead of just “poking around” -

@Bob, there will be a test later, so study it well.

the “test” is with real clients, that will expect me to know what I am doing !!! Good luck to me !
