So after being a user of a TS-251+ for a long time (for home/personal use), we recently purchased a TVS-h674 for a client. We opted to go through a distributor and use QNAP’s turnkey set-up. Getting everything actually ordered, processed, and delivered was not a fun experience - but I think that has more to do with the distributor than anything else.
The TVS-h674 has been very solid. Unfortunately, we opted to go with QuTS Hero for the turnkey set-up, and that was a bad choice for us since we needed to be able to have multiple shares point to the same location with different security permissions applied (and that is only possible with QTS). Thankfully, we hadn’t yet deployed the NAS, so we were able to remotely reset it and install QTS (a big thanks to QNAP Support for that pointer so that we didn’t have to actually go on-site to make the change). And QNAP Support has been great in being responsive and answering all of our questions. I very much like the fact that I can initially deploy the NAS as just that, but it has a lot more capabilities that we can take advantage of in the future if needed - and I will likely be exploring some of them to see how best to use them). I definitely think we are going to be happy with this NAS and likely will be looking to purchase a few others down the road as well.
