External drive disconnection causes QSync to delete synced copy

Hi all,

We have a TS-1655 which syncs to drives on two machines via QSync. Generally, this works reasonably well but there have now been a handful of instances where someone has accidentally ejected a synced drive from their machine without quitting QSync. According to the logs, this then triggers QSync to delete random folders from the synced copy of the removed drive on the NAS. This then wipes these folders from the other synced machine.

Most recently, a removed drive caused QSync to spend 30 minutes deleting folders before it noticed that the drive wasn’t actually there. Without the backup, these files would have been completely erased from the system.

Is QSync not able to distinguish between an inaccessible file path and a request to delete? Why is it taking so long to notice that a synced drive is missing?

If anyone has any suggestions as to how I can prevent this behaviour it will save me a lot of grief. Thanks!
