Extra disk space cannot be used - RAID-1

Hi,

Can someone please clarify why my newly inserted 2x 4 TB HDD, despite it is empty showing as 871.19 GB in use ?

I only set it as RAID 1.

Says it right in the diagram ,pool guaranteed snapshot space was set. That is instantly not available on the pool

Ah so that is the culprit :slight_smile: , There is nothing in this drive yet, but I guess it is reserved for the snapshot in the future.

You don’t have to reserve space for snapshots. If you remove that guaranteed space you can still do snapshots. It just means that when your drive starts to fill up, the system will start deleting snapshots to put data into that space.
