The system currently supports NFS v4.1.
If support for NFS v4.2 were added, it would enable server-side copy operations.
This would significantly speed up file copies within the same share, because the client/QNAP wouldn’t need to read the file and resend it over the network—the NAS could perform the copy internally.
Actually Hero kind of all ready has that capability. I’m not sure how well it works as I’ve seen documentation that says the copy has to occur within the same folder. Maybe someone else can chime in.

This would be amazing.
Currently switched from iscsi lun’s back to nfs as performance wise it seems to be alot better in my situation. having v4.2 would even give us better features!

I’m currently hard stuck trying to setup opencloud and point its data directory to qnap. It needed extended attributes (xattr) export which is possible on 4.2+
