I woke up to a TS 464 missing from the network and unable to find it on Qfinder, I did a power down and restart.
When the device rebooted I checked the event logs and found this error:
Warning 2025-10-14 17:00:00 — — localhost — Firmware Update Firmware Update [Firmware Update] An automatic firmware update to QTS 5.2.7.3256 is scheduled for 2025-10-15 05:00. If you want to postpone or cancel this update, go to Control Panel > System > Firmware Update > Firmware Update and click “Postpone or Cancel”.
However as the firmware is now showing 5.2.7.3256 I am presuming that the update was the reason for the connectivity loss.
i also updated QuTS hero h5.2.7.3256 on my two systems without issues so far.
I always apply FW manually so i can schedule down time. One unit had issues downloading the file so i manually download and updated the nas.
I also always reboot before applying the FW update, then update and let it boot up, I then do a shutdown and remove power from the unit for 20 seconds. This method seems to help prevent weird issues when running the nas post FW update.
I have almost the same procedure for myTVS-h1688x and TVS-h1288x. My 5 other models do fine. The models with the Xenon W1250 CPU seem to have issues with hot reboots.
Thanks for the report! We’ll look into whether there are similar reports of this situation. If you run into any other issues, please feel free to let us know. Thanks!
I’m having similar issues with two TS-453A units. One unit backs up four separate folders overnight to the second unit using rsync. The first job kicks off the remaining three via job dependencies. For completeness the second unit then kicks off four similar jobs to an off site TS-431P, triggered by the completion of the final incoming job.
This has been working splendidly until 18 October when the first rsync job on the source unit failed at the 3% mark with the error:
[Hybrid Backup Sync] Failed to complete Sync job: "SLNASC453A - XXXX”. Bad port number or service is unavailable. Check connection settings. Error code: -111.
I cannot find a lot of info on error -111, except for much earlier QTS versions.
The job continually fails at the same place with the came error.
Both units can still be logged into via web service, SMB or shh & respond to pings.
The only changes made in the network were the firmware updates to 5.2.7.3256 on these two units.
So far this seems to be the only issues potentially incurred as a result of the update, but ‘m still looking.
I’m running HS3 Hybrid Back UP Sync 26.1.2.827 on both TS-453A units.
I’m also having this issue. I’m on a TS-673. I cannot log in after upgrading to 5.2.7.3256.
I have restarted the NAS several times. I’ve restarted my modem/router. I’ve even plugged in a network cable to a different port on the back. When I am able to see the NAS on QFinder Pro, I can’t do anything with it. It says my username & password are invalid.
Any help is appreciated. I’m losing work being locked out of my NAS.
UPDATE: I fixed my issue by connecting the NAS directly to my machine, going into Network Settings and clearing out all of the settings, then reapplying all of my static IP & DNS settings, then rebooting all machines involved.
