HBS3 backup script combined with USB One Touch copy

System: NAS 473A, QuTS Hero 5.2, 5 TB external USB drive.

Hello everyone.
I would like to make backups from the NAS to the external USB drive.
For this I was using HBS 3, and I set up the extra USB drive to copy the data from the Nas to the external drive with the button press. That works.

Now, I was thinking I would set up a script to, for example, make automatic copies every 14 days - since it’s in a private environment. But say, I would transfer a big batch of data from a camera one day, I could start an immediate backup with the button on the front seamlessly into the existing backup. But when I try this, it looks like the script creates a different folder structure than the button copy so that one ends up with two separate backups.

So, is it correct that one cannot use these two modes to make a backup copy into the same directory structure. I.e. the copy button would basically have the function of starting the backup script immediately, instead of what until the next scheduled time point?
I.e., One can only use the button to make incremental backups (does it actually work for incremental backups, haven’t tried that yet),
or one can use the scheduled backup script only for incremental backups
to the same external HD - (if one doesn’t want duplicate data on the external drive).
