Hello! I was just curious and checked the SMART information of the SSD in my NAS, and I was surprised to see that the Power On Hours had exceeded 46,000 hours. I’m truly grateful for my NAS, which runs 24/7 all year round.
How long have your QNAP NAS, HDDs, or SSDs been running? Whether it’s “I haven’t changed it in 5 years but it’s still going strong!” or “It’s getting scary, maybe it’s time to replace it…”, please share your screenshots or numbers in the comments!
By the way, the SSD currently running in my TS-264 has been operating for 1944 days (roughly a little over 5 years), as mentioned above.
I swapped in the SSD that I was using in my TS-261.
Hello! Surprisingly, the HDD in my home NAS hasn’t even exceeded 1,000 hours of operation yet. I think it’s probably because I replaced it when I upgraded the capacity before.
On the other hand, the drive at my company has already surpassed 3,650 hours. It’s been running continuously for nearly 10 years, and it’s amazing that it’s still in such good condition.
Thank you for the information!
It’s amazing that it’s been running for nearly 10 years!!
I hope my SSD will last for 10 years too! I’ll pray to my NAS every day.
Are you running RAID scrub?
I don’t think HDDs verify after writing, so there may be cases where you try to read and can’t!
To avoid failures due to read errors on the remaining disks during RAID recovery, I highly recommend regularly performing scrubs. Please consider it!
