HDP for SaaS (m365)

I’m Using HDP for SaaS for M365 and expected that a licence for a user allowed for backup of as much data as we had space on our NAS. This seems not to be the case but it seems almost impossible to find out officially how much space you get per licence. We belive it’s about 22GB per user which seems very small. Does anyone know how we can understand for sure, and if its possible to expand the amount or if its a case of having to buy additional licences.

Thanks

Hello,

The HDP for SaaS License is for Seats, not Storage.

Typically, the HDP for SaaS license covers the number of users (seats) you are allowed to backup. It does not dictate the storage limit. Since the software backs up data directly to your QNAP NAS drives, the only storage limit should be the physical free space available on your NAS.

You do not need to buy additional HDP for SaaS licenses to get more storage space. You just need to ensure your NAS has enough free disk space.

Hope this helps you, thanks.

Jack

Thanks Jack,

This has been confirmed by QNAP Support. Interestingly QNAP documentation still refers to the licence model that was used by Boxafe which did indeed have quotas, hence my confusion.
