I have a 1688 and I am trying to connect to it using HDP’s Hyper V manager to back up a number of VMs. I’m using the latest version of HDP and NetBakup and firmware is at 5.2.5 I enter all the relevant info into the HDP config screen (server name, IP, admin username/password, and it chooses port 5895). It tries to connect but comes back with either an error 1 or 986. I’ve even completely opened the firewall so it’s not being blocked. Rarely it will connect, see the proper server OS type and the fact there are 10 vms. It will say it is initializing and will even say it is connected, then will almost immediately say there is an error with no detail as to what the error it. I really like this Qnap feature and want it to work reliably. Any ideas?
6/20 As an update, I have multiple IP’s on the host server and I decided to try a different IP…low and behold it finally connected and recognized the OS type, and number of VM’s, all good? Not so fast, as soon as I kicked off a back, it immediately went to 10% and stalled until it finally failed out. I have not checked the disk space on the C drive on the host server, which I will do next.
