Help with ip address conflict tvs 871-t

i have my reliable tvs-871t (no changes to my network) and for the past month I have been having ip address conflicts. I am getting many errors -

Warning 2024-12-11 10:35:34 — — localhost — Network & Virtual Switch Infrastructure [Network & Virtual Switch] Detected an IP conflict on adapter “Adapter 1”. A different device on the network is using the same IP address (192.168.1.223). To resolve the issue, contact your network administrator.

ip is set to static on adapter 1. I am running a very simple unifi setup with the 871 direct to switch.
Any ideas on how to resolve this issue?
Thanks,
Matthew

so you set your static IP address on your NAS. but is this outside your DHCP scope from your unknown DHCP server. (my guess is from your router, but you gave no info on DHCP scope or addressing range)

example.

DHCP Server is your Router.
Scope 192.168.1.100-200
NAS: 192.168.1.99 ← outside of the scope.

If the NAS’s Static IP is inside the scope you could get another device obtaining the same IP address as DHCP server does not have a reservation on the said IP address.

Sorry,
My scope is .6-.254. I an within range @ .223.

I actually think this may be a sonos issue. I have a sonos boost as a temp fix until I can run more cat 6 in my house. I unplugged the boost and have not had another error yet…

You should reduce the scope if you have fixed IP’s , never give out static IP’s within scope (or conflicts like this will happen)

wait, i can assign ips outside of scope? why did i think everything had to be within that range?
i feel dumb

Yes you create a scope with say 100 IPs .100-200

Anything outside of that can be used as a static IP (except .1 and .254 usually) in a /24 subnet.

note: Some DHCP servers on routers, will allow you to reserve an IP address to a mac id, thus you dont need a static IP on the device itself.
