Home Assistant with QuTS here on a TS-h1290FX

I have tried to install Home Assistant on my TS-h1290FX in both a Container and in a VM, but I’ve had no success. I want to use ZigBee 2MQTT to communicate with ZigBee devices as I am switching over to them.

I can install and operate Home Assistant in a Container, but I cannot get my Combee II Dongle (I know the Sonoff Zigbee 3.0 dongle does not work), the Mosquitto MQTT Broker, and Home Assistant to talk to each other.

I have tried various different setups to the three containers, but just cannot get it to work.

Has anyone any ideas please?

I think you have to use a VM to pass the USB device through to HA. It might have changed since I last tried to use a dongle with HA but I know that I had issues even with the VM seeing the dongle on ocassion

Thanks for the comment; I think I need to investigate this further. I have executed a command to enable USB passthru.

Yes, creating a VM on the TS-h1290FX folved the problem, and I have had Home Assistant running perfectly for a few weeks now.

I am having an issue when trying to see the .img for Home Assistant in the VM ‘use existing disk’ dialogue. Please see my post. Your success in setting it up might inform where I am going wrong. Many thanks if you can help.
