How do i replace bad disks in TS-420?

Hi all,

i have 2 disks that need replacing on my TS-420, one has completely failed and the other showing on bad condition. please help, if you can, i have all my kids pictured of them growing up on there and would like to recover them.

That would depend on your storage configuration.

But first, if you can, you should backup data outside of the NAS, ASAP.

If you do not have access to yoru data, it may be better to open a ticket with QNAP support

Unless it’s a RAID6 or just the right disks on a RAID10, you will be in trouble.

A NAS is not magic and needs to be backed up, no a RAID is not a backup (as you can see).

Best to open a ticket with QNAP support or talk to a data recovery professional.
