Hello, a relative “simple” question. I have a big photo album, uploaded on my HS-251+ (with SSD) and it is super slow (even if I have a USB Coral, so not about image recognition) in visualising the People Albums.
My goal is to knoy if there is a way to make it as fast as possible my old NAS for this scope only of using QuMagie - thanks!
I am not sure how big your album is, but this one-time job by QuMagie in the 251 platform is… somehow slow.
There are lab tests before, I remember the result is using 253D + TPU (Celeron J4125, cpumark 2956pts)
Face Detect 75,000 pic/hr
Object Detect 52,500 pic/hr
Similiar Photo 900,000 pic/hr
The 251+ is J1900 (1151pts) so it should be slower than above.
By the way, adjusting the priority in hardware may boost some speed, and ensure TPU is enabled in MMC.

Thank you for your fast answer HanzSung,
actually my problem it is not the time to build the database or image recognition, it is really the time to open QuMagie, to navigate in it, to wait that the thumbnails are appearing - it is actually unusable at the moment unfortunately.
Any tips to make the software snappier, maybe stripping down something would be great.
PS: even with the QuMagie phone app, it is extremely slow in showing the photos, in a house same wifi network (not using external cloud)
Hi @tuleggi I used TVS-472XT to test 100,000 photos, and it took about 4 seconds to display thumbnails after turning on QuMagie.
Could you please tell us how long it took for the situation you encountered, and how long it took to meet your expectations?
Hello @haru0 , I also have the same issue as above. Viewing thumbnails from my local Windows computer or iPhone on local wifi takes 40 seconds to fill the screen. When I scroll further it will take another 40 ish seconds. The CPU goes to 100%. Multimedia Console shows all OK for Index and Thumbnail and shows recent date/time.
I hope you have a solution for this as this is unaceptable.
QNAP model: TS-473
QuMagie version: 2.7.4
Multimedia Console version: 2.9.0
thanks
You have a NAS with 4-core Celeron CPU and only 2GB ram - that is gonna be slower than my 15 year old “Netbook“ no matter what you do I’m afraid ![]()
Hi @DeVisdude I checked with the QuMagie team that their upcoming new version QuMagie 2.8.0 includes improvements to thumbnail display performance, and it is scheduled for release in mid November maybe next week. Maybe you can try that version once it is available and see if it helps speed things up.
If the thumbnails still slow after update, please open a Support Ticket to let our technical support team can arrange a remote access to check your issue.
It is still slow. I have opened a ticket.
