Never seen any captchas in HBS and why mention social media?
Hybrid Backup Center is a Beta app from QNAP. It is not an app on the NAS, but a website: Hybrid Backup Center
The reason I mentioned social media, is because the app mentioned that as an alternative sign in method. You do have to run an actual app on your NAS’s called HBC agent. Hybrid Backup Center is a very useful app to me.
I really don’t understand why they bother using Captcha anyway, since AI won the Captcha wars over 2 years ago. Basically any AI is better at proving it’s Human than any human.
Thank you for your feedback! Based on my personal testing, a verification code is typically not required if the username and password are entered correctly within the first three attempts. Are you referring to the captcha image itself being difficult to read or distinguish?

My brother closed my browser. Chrome entered stored password because when I finally pleased the captcha it worked. I am 71 so this type captcha is hard for my old eyes to decode. I keep it open in a tab all the time. Very useful app! NAS View allows me to see when a NAS comes back online with the dot changing to green. Best feature is in Backup & Sync mode sorted by Next Run I can see when to do firmware updates, etc. so as not to interrupt any of my 162 HBS jobs.
