Idle CPU usage halved after upgrading to QTS 5.2.7

I have a TS-453Dmini which was updated from 5.2.6.3195 to 5.2.7.3288 recently. I suddenly notice that its idle CPU usage just halved from 34% to 17% seeing from AMIZcloud. Don’t know what magic was done by QNAP but it looks quite surprising!

FYI my workload mainly includes:

  • Ubuntu 24.04 virtual machine
  • QVR Elite with one camera recording and motion detection enabled
  • Home assistant container

I noticed this also on all 7 models and mentioned it a few weeks back in the post about the update.

I’ve also noted this, my cpu runs much lower now!
