iDrive headaches

I’m tryingto re-activate my iDrive backup after a few years dormant and it’s giving me a hard time. The app re-installed ok in my QTS ver 4.3.4 (end of life) but when I launch it, a new browser page opnes up with an error: “Page not found or the web server is currently unavailable. Please contact the website administrator for help.” the address is the nas ip 192.168.1.200/iDrive.

I’ve researched this topic for hours and disabled by antivirus and browsign security etc., but it won’t launch. any help would be appreciated.

Do you have the built in QNAP web server running? You will need to enable that to enable the iDrive app to work.

not sure how to do that…

update: I figured it out, you were right, the web server was not enabled, thanks!

Maybe you should tell the QNAP support team this, they’ve got me on dump long files and clear cache that didn’t exist or work!

Thank you for your feedback, and we sincerely apologize for the unsatisfactory experience. Our technical support team follows standard operating procedures and training, but we will take your suggestions into consideration as a reference for related matters. Thanks again for taking the time to share your thoughts!

@SteveKo - perhaps the problem was not that they were following standard steps but that this is really a 3rd party app? I mean the first step in troubleshooting should have been to ask the user to ensure the internal web server was enabled. For a web based app like this that is 1000% part of the standard operating procedure.
