Hey Team, could we get a clear idea if Intel ARC GPU support is in the pipeline for QuTS, ARC has well and truely taken the lead in transcoding performance and making them an extremely attractive option for users looking to perform transcoding duties on their QNAP products.

I would like to get an answer to this also. Most of the other NAS companies support Intel GPUs and I can certainly build a custom NAS that would support Intel ARC. Not sure what is holding up QNAP - the drivers are there. I bought a card and added it to my NAS, only to discover it isn’t supported. Might need to take my business elsewhere…

Taking your business elsewhere maybe the only way. QNAP NAS and other manufacturers have locked down their NAS software. They only support a limited set of hardware.
I would however suggest you and anyone else who is wanting to add hardware to check the compatibility list first of all before purchasing anything.

actually blows my mind how unwilling qnap is to even discuss the topic. this isn’t rocket science, if you don’t want to build the driver, at least opensource the ability for the community to do it rather than hiding the OS behind a paywall in the dark ages.

But actually I found the driver backported and I guess working on 5.10.x but for DSM. So I guess there is no excuse.
